No clowning: The Paleta Payaso’s rise

In 1972, Ricolino introduced one of its star products, the Paleta Payaso (an oversized “clown lollipop”). Back then it consisted of cornflakes, not today’s marshmallow, though it was covered in chocolate and garnished with traditional gumdrops that create a cute clown-face.

The treat’s clown character has changed with the time—since 1999 he skateboards and uses kneepads.

A slogan that started as “the Face of Fun” has evolved to the present-day “Never-ending Fun.”
