In average, Mexicans generate around five tons of CO2 each yea, as a result of their daily activities.
One tree absorbs one ton of CO2 during its growth. The calculator is a useful virtual tool so that we can, on an individual level add our efforts against climate change. www.calculatusemisiones.com

The site allows you to quantify CO2 emissions resulting from the use of transportation and energy consumption. It also provides practical advice on environment-respectful behaviors. It also presents options to compensate for your calculated emissions through reforestation projects undertaken by Reforestamos México and Pronatura. Televisa Verde came on board the project to help spread the word.

Reforestamos México -Grupo Bimbo’s civil association- together with Pronatura México, A.C. and the Instituto Nacional de Ecología (INE), concerned over the global climate change, joined efforts to create the first Mexican Carbon Calculator. (www.calculatusemisiones.com)

Guillermo Barroso Montull, President of Pronatura México, presented the Mexican Carbon Calculator and stressed the importance of joining public, private and civil efforts towards a common objective: to face the challenge of climate change; a world-wide problem that we must all participate in solving.
