Colegio Vista Hermosa in Mexico City and El Arca in Tijuana are crowned champions of Futbolito Bimbo 2023
Vista Hermosa schools in Mexico City and El Arca in Tijuana were crowned champions of Futbolito Bimbo 2023. With a score of 2 goals to 1, the Colegio Vista Hermosa of Mexico City won the championship in the women’s category. The Colegio El Arca in Tijuana was crowned champion in the men’s category with a score of 6 goals to 0.
Futbolito Bimbo is an important social responsibility initiative focused on the integral development of children. Through the program, Grupo Bimbo promotes physical activity combined with study and proper nutrition as part of a healthy lifestyle.
More than 25,000 children from more than 2,200 teams representing over 1,500 schools from across Mexico participated in this 2023 edition. More than 26 percent of all participants were girls.
Armando Cantú Brito, Director of People of Grupo Bimbo in Mexico, presented trophies and medals to the winning teams, while sharing this message: “For 59 years we made Futbolito Bimbo to promote, through sport, important values such as teamwork, respect, and companionship, among thousands of girls and boys who are in one of the most important stages of their lives. I want to congratulate all the finalists, because thanks to their talent, effort, and dedication, they have managed to reach the final of this great sporting event. Undoubtedly, being a finalist is a great achievement, which we recognize and value very much.
"The winning teams overcame the challenges they experienced throughout the tournament, and today they are lifting this cup proudly representing their school and their city. I invite you to continue promoting and practicing sport as a fundamental practice and discipline in the training of our children."
