Tía Rosa celebrates its first 25 years in Mexico State

Its production plant was inaugurated in 1988 and today produces more than 180 products distributed in Mexico, USA and Central America.

In a ceremony attended by 1,500 people between guests and associates, Tia Rosa, a subsidiary of Grupo Bimbo, celebrated the 25th anniversary of its production plant in Toluca, Mexico State. The event was led by Daniel Servitje and Don Roberto Servitje, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupo Bimbo, and Javier Gonzalez Franco, President of Bimbo, SA

Tia Rosa plant began operations in Toluca on April 23th, 1988, starting to produce and distribute muffins, cookies and pastries. Today, 25 years later, produces under 10 production lines more than 180 products distributed through local grocery stores, supermarkets, specialty channels, convenience stores, and autovend machines.

During the ceremony, attended by associates families and retirees, Daniel Servitje pointed out the importance of this plant in the operations of Grupo Bimbo, since it "serves 17,449 sales points through 107 distribution routes", he added.

The executive emphasized the growth of the productive capacity of the plant, saying that "the plant we inaugurated 25 years ago, now serves the entire country and exports its products to the United States and Central America. This is possible thanks to the efforts and dedication of the associates."

He added that due to its high and efficient sustainable performance, which includes an Environmental Management System, Tia Rosa facilities in Mexico State, have been awarded by the most important certifications and awards in the field, as awarded Clean Industry by the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) under SEMARNAT direction.

Meanwhile, Javier Gonzalez Franco, President of Bimbo, SA, congratulated the associates for 25 years of work. "Your effort and dedication is recognized not only within the company but also outside it", he said during the speech addressed to them.

He concluded by recalling that since its opening, Tia Rosa plant became a major driver of economic growth in Mexico State. "We must not forget that investment is the key to development, and in that way Grupo Bimbo and Tia Rosa have played a key role in all mexiquenses benefit. Congratulations and thank you very much for these first 25 years".
