On Saturday the 26th of January, Grupo Bimbo associates gathered in the City of Chihuahua to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Chihuahua Bimbo plant.
The event was honored with the presence of Don Roberto Servitje, President of the Board of Directors of Grupo Bimbo who commented: “I wish to express my most heartfelt acknowledgement to all of those who have been building this enterprise. To all of its employees and to its managerial personnel whose intelligent attitude has fully understood the needs of productivity flexibility and growth required for the benefit of all. My congratulations”.
November 7th of 1982, a dream became reality: Bimbo Chihuahua was born, with enormous joy and an even greater commitment to serve the consumers of the region, through their quality products and the warmth of their people.
The plant was Grupo Bimbo’s #17 manufacturing facility and at that time it had in operation 3 Production lines: Bread, Buns, and Toast, and close to 80 associates.
Today, more than 1000 direct jobs are generated for people in the production, marketing and services’ areas. More than 70 products are manufactured and are marketed in the territories of: Chihuahua, Durango, Coahuila, Nuevo León and the South of the United States of America.
Bimbo Chihuahua has been given ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certification and the HACCP Safety in Food Products Certification, in addition to also having the following recognitions from Grupo Bimbo: Market Attention in 1998, Award to Exemplary Added Value in 2004, Wendy’s Latin American Recognition as the best supplier of the year 2004 and 2005 and Enterprises with a Soul in 2006.
In the year 2005, the Plant obtained the State Award for Quality, being the first organization in the line of food production to obtain such award in the State of Chihuahua; in addition, during this same contest it obtained the acknowledgements: Commitment to Quality and New Labor Culture.
During 2005 and 2006 it also received the recognition of the Voluntary Environmental Regulation Program for State Environmental Regulatory Standards and in 2007 it was acknowledged as a CLEAN INDUSTRY.
