Grupo Bimbo opens Barcel plant; with an investment of $8 US million and the creation of 300 jobs
Bimbo Bear brought under its division of snacks and confectionery products, a Barcel plant to Jalisco.
With an investment of $8 US million and the creation of 300 jobs, Grupo Bimbohas inaugurated the plant that will be designated for the manufacture and distribution of brands such as Takis and Chips.
The new Barcel Occidente factory, the number 155th in the world, and 44th in Mexico, its located in Ferrocarril neighborhood in Guadalajara and will have a Dulces Vero distribution center.
With the new factory, there are six plants that Grupo Bimbo has in operations in Jalisco and over 26 facilities, including depots.
Gabino Gómez, president of Organización Barcel, reported that by the end of this year the plant could increase the number of employees.
"It is planned to set up another line by the end of this year, and then, as the market responds" , he said.
The executive explained that the products made in this plant will be distributed, as well as in Mexico, in other countries like United States, España, Guatemala, Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panamá.
Daniel Servitje, Grupo Bimbo´s CEO, highlighted the new plant is sustainable.

The inauguration of the plant attended by Governor of Jalisco, Jorge Aristóteles Sandoval and Secretary of Economic Development, José Palacios. Sandoval stated that the presence of companies like Grupo Bimbo is a show of confidence to invest in Jalisco.
