Grupo Bimbo opens the call for the eighth edition of its race with cause, Bimbo Global Race, seeking to promote the physical activity of families worldwide. This year, the bakery wants to gather more than 120 thousand participants to reach a new goal, donating more than 2 million slices of bread. This will be possible because, for each registrant, the company will donate 20 slices of bread to food banks.
With this initiative, Grupo Bimbo reaffirms its commitment to the communities where it operates and will help those who need it most under its firm commitment to Nourishing a Better World. In addition, this edition of the Bimbo Global Race presents its new campaign, "The Good We Share," inviting everyone to share the good times with their loved ones, inspiring the community to share the good always.
Alberto Levy, Global VP Marketing at Grupo Bimbo, said: “With the launch of our The Good We Share campaign, we want to inspire more people to join the Bimbo Global Race, a global community where we aim for everyone to come out with their families, run or walk, and help to Nourish a Better World, not just with words but with actions. We need you to join this movement! Over the past seven years, we have already donated more than 23 million slices of bread. And we want even more! We know this 2023 goal is ambitious, and we are confident that with your participation, we will donate even more to those who need it the most.”.
The Bimbo Global Race's eighth edition will be held on September 24, 2023, in more than 34 countries. The Race with a Cause has three different categories, 3K, 5K, and 10K, which allow the participation of children and adults.
This year, the host city that will receive the last edition winners of the race will be Toronto, Canada.
