On last July 5, Bimbo volunteers, together with Reforestamos Mexico, Grupo Bimbo civil association, reforested the Mazahua area in the State of Mexico with 50 thousand trees.

Over 6,000 associates from Bimbo, Marinela, Tía Rosa, Suandy, Milpa Real, El Globo, Barcel and Ricolino and their families participated in this activity, which was part of a day for national reforestation summoned and fostered by the Federal Government of Mexico throughout the National territory. Also present in this event were Local, State and Federal authorities, who were welcomed with a Mazahua ceremony.

After the planting of the trees, associates and their families enjoyed and shared some recreational activities for both, big and small, with the members of the communities in the area in a family and community integration setting. Bobby Pulido, Julio Camejo and Kudai joined this important cause and played their greatest hits.

The 50 thousand pine trees planted, shall contribute to the recovery of the biodiversity in the Mazahua area, in the San Felipe del Progreso Municipality, one of the poorest areas, and one of the most affected by deforestation. Among the direct benefits that community members shall enjoy are: water, oxygen and a habitat for fauna.

This activity is part of Grupo Bimbo’s “Committed to the Environment” program.
