Grupo Bimbo grants the Pan-American Bimbo Award 2010 in nutrition, science and food tecnology

It is the fourth time Grupo Bimbo grants this distinction to acknowledge the most important works of the scientific community in the nutrition and food technology areas.

With the presence of Mr. Daniel Servitje, its CEO, Grupo Bimbo granted today the ““Pan-American Bimbo Award 2010” in Nutrition, Science and Food Technology.

In a ceremony held in the “Museo Casa de la Bola”, attended also by Mr. José Narro Robles, Dean of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and Dr. Rafael López Castañares, Executive Secretary General of ANUIES, as well as other distinguished members of academia and NGO’s, Grupo Bimbo awarded 13 research works in the areas of Human Nutrition, Science and Food Technology.

In spite of the different topics, all the works winners of the Pan-American Bimbo Award 2010, in Nutrition, Science and Food Technology have a common feature; together they provide elements to improve the quality and nutritional value of processed foods and conclusions to foster healthy life styles.

During the award ceremony, Daniel Servitje said “for Grupo Bimbo, investing in research has always been a priority; therefore since 2004 it instituted the award as part of its commitment with society and the scientific and academic communities of the countries where it is present”.
