In 1984, under Roberto Servitje’s supervision, the first truckload of Marinela exportations left Mexico to Houston, carrying—among other products—Gansito, that had migrated to a new metallic wrapper that year. 

The internationalizing process for which Grupo Bimbo is noted kicked off with the creation of Bimbo Centroamérica in 1989 and the corporation’s first foreign factory floor, in Guatemala.
