Luis Cárdenas Palomino, Head of the Regional Security Division of the Department of Public Security of Mexico, granted 145 medals to Grupo Bimbo drivers as an acknowledgement for safe driving while performing their job, which has kept them, in the course of one year, free from accidents and traffic violations.
Besides the medals, Cárdenas Palomino, representing Genaro García Luna, Public Security Secretary, also gave the following awards and acknowledgements:
Family members of the awardees attended the Awards Ceremony held at the Bimbo Azcapotzalco plant, as well as Bimbo Organization leaders, Company Union Representatives and Officials of the Public Security Department, among others.
Luis René Martínez Souvervielle, GB Director of Corporate Affairs, highlighted the work and dedication of the Vehicles Department personnel, which has allowed the Company to ship in a safe and efficient way more than two million containers of finished product. “The Vehicles Department ships our products daily to 62 Depots in the Metro, Bajío and South East Regions with high safety and punctuality indexes.”
The GB Leader also stated that the Vehicles Department holds permanent campaigns on Safety and Health focused on preventing road and work-related accidents. “We constantly train all our drivers. We have a Training Center certified by the Communications and Transportation Department (SCT, for its acronym in Spanish) where a course is given to renew the Driver Federal License.”
Luis Cárdenas Palomino, also stressed the collaboration of Grupo Bimbo with the Federal Authorities of Mexico in campaigns that foster road safety and accident prevention.
