Grupo Bimbo celebrated today the 25th anniversary of its Bimbo Puebla plant with a commemorative event with the attendance of Cabalán Macarí Álvaro, Secretary of Competitiveness, Work and Economic Development of the State of Puebla; Luis Banck Serrato, Puebla Municipal President; House Representative Genoveva Huerta Villegas and Xitlalic Ceja García, Federal House Representative; Vanessa Barahona De La Rosa, Federal Delegate for Work in Puebla, as well as Miguel Ángel Espinoza, President, Bimbo en Mexico among others.
Inaugurated in July 1991, the Bimbo Puebla plant participates in the State’s commercial and industrial development in an outstanding and competitive way. It has 11 production lines that make round 6,000 tons of product of the highest quality; among them we can emphasize: Bread, Buns, Pound Cakes, Tortillas, Toast Bread, Sweet Baked Goods and Bread Crumbs that are distributed to more than 85 thousand points of sale in the states of Tlaxcala, Hidalgo, Puebla, Oaxaca and Veracruz. In total, 400 associates in the State demonstrate their devotion and commitment to give the best of themselves and providing excellent service day by day.
Is noteworthy that this plant carries out various actions to protect the environment, such as having a comprehensive waste management system, emissions control, water and energy saving programs, and a water treatment plant.
Likewise, through the Buen Vecino (Good Neighbor) program, Bimbo Puebla contributes to the wellbeing of the community living and working in the area around it. Recently, it installed an outdoors gym, children’s games, speed bumps and traffic signs.
During his participation, Javier González Franco, Senior Executive Vice-President of Grupo Bimbo, thanked and congratulated the associates of the great Bimbo family in Puebla for their work and dedication, and pointed out that: “associates are the heart of our Company and Bimbo Puebla is one of the major examples of quality and of working spirit. When this plant was inaugurated, the vision became a reality that remains today and grows with us.” He also stressed the implementation of technology designed to protect the environment and stated that, “with facts and concrete actions, Bimbo demonstrates its commitment to the planet.”
On his part, of Cabalán Macarí Álvaro, Secretary of Competitiveness, Work and Economic Development of the State of Puebla, congratulated the associates of this plant and stressed that “companies that go out to conquer the world and generate technology and innovation are necessary; companies like Bimbo that have been able to triumph at a global level in a decisive way. We are very proud of having Bimbo in the State of Puebla, since it is a sound company that gives us certainty and that has invested, just during this administration, over 400 million pesos.”
Company associates attended the event accompanied by their families, as well as representatives of the Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores Harineros, Panificadores, de Alimentos, del Transporte y Comercio, Similares y Conexos de la República Mexicana (National Union of Workers of the Flour, Baking, Food, Transportation and Trade, Similar and Related industries of the Mexican Republic), and trade partners, among others.
